Q. I have forgotten my password. What can I do?
A. For simplicity we will have set your postcode as your password, remember if you have recently moved house your password will be the postcode you entered when you made the parts request.

Q. What does "Keep me logged in on this computer" mean?
A. For your convenience, you can choose to save your login details on the computer you are using. This means that you do not have to re-enter your email address and password [postcode] when making subsequent enquiries.
Your details will be saved until you disconnect from the internet, close your browser or turn off your computer.
Q. Why does "Invalid email address and/ or password" appear?
A. You may have entered the wrong email address or password.
Please check for misspellings - or alternatively, you can get your account details re-sent to your email address. Refer to "I have forgotten my password. What can I do?" for details. It may simply be that you have not registered with Auto Spares Compare yet.
Q. What is the benefit of logging in?
A. By logging in before making an enquiry, your stored vehicle and contact details will be displayed so the whole process will be much faster. With regard to comparing your quotes, logging in to your Auto spares compare account is the only way you will be able to do this.

Q. I have selected the wrong Make of vehicle. How can I change my selection?
A. Simply click the "Home" link on the black stripe navigation, select a new make of vehicle and press "Go". Alternatively use our "Back" button until you reach the Auto Spares Compare home page.
Q. Why do you require the Year and Reg of my vehicle?
A. Manufacturers regularly change their model ranges, "face-lifting" the same vehicle once or more per year. To help our suppliers to quote accurately, it is vital that the vehicle details you supply are correct. Please refer to your vehicle log book for year of registration & registration suffix/ prefix.
Q. Where can I locate my Chassis number?
A. The location of the Chassis number (VIN number) is dependent on the make and model of your vehicle. However, for your convenience it should also be clearly displayed on your vehicle log book.
My Parts F.A.Q

Q. What is the difference between Part name and Details.
A. The "Part Name" box is used to summarise the part you require e.g. "Front bumper". It is limited to 20 characters with spaces.
The "Details" box is where you can enter additional information which will help the supplier to understand your requirements e.g.. "Colour coded type". Characters here are not limited to 20 so you can keep typing as the text scrolls to the left.

Q. I can't fit my Part requirements into the "Part Name" box. What can I do?
A. The "Part Name" box is limited to 20 characters with spaces. You can apply any of the abbreviations below and also use the "Details" box to describe your requirements further.

Q. How do I attach an image?
A. Alongside the "Optional image attachment" box under each "Part Details" box, simply click "Browse", select your image file, then click "Open". Clicking the "Continue" button when you've completed the other boxes will action the attachment".
Q. Is there a file size limit to attaching images?
A. No. However the larger your file size, the longer it will take upload. Also, weaker internet connections may not be able to handle files in excess of 100K.
Q. How do I enquire about more than 3 parts?
A. Simply click the "Add Parts" button at the bottom of the page for each additional part you wish to add.ng).

Q. Why do you need my telephone number?
A. In the event that a supplier needs to contact you to clarify your part requirements/ payment details or advise of any change to your order status, it may be easier, quicker and more secure to contact you via telephone.
Q. Do you pass on my personal details to anyone else?
A. No. Your personal details are only viewed by our select network of suppliers. We do not pass on ANY information to third party organisations.
Q. What is the FREE phone quote service?
A. The phone service lets you receive quotes direct to your landline or mobile completely FREE of charge. Our system will instantly transmit your details to the supplier who will then contact you. This is particulary beneficial when you have limited access to your email account or are always on the move.
Q. Why do you need my postcode?
A. Delivery costs can vary dependant on your location. By providing your postcode, it helps suppliers to quote for delivery more accurately.Also we set your password as your postcode so its easy to remember.
Q. Will I receive junk mail to my property?
A. No. Since we do not ask for your house number, it would be impossible for you to receive junk mail as a result of making an Auto Spares Compare enquiry.
Q. I am a non-UK resident, can I still use this service?
A. Generally yes. However, due to the prevalence of credit card fraud and the prohibitive costs of returns, some of the suppliers listed may not offer export services.
How many suppliers are associated with Auto Spares Compare?
Auto Spares compare is a new company that is growing very quickly, we are adding new suppliers to our list on a daily basis, not only scrap-yards but specialist and reconditioned parts suppliers.
What guarantees do they offer?
All offer a minimum of 30 days guarantee on parts supplied. Many offer 60 days and some parts come with 90 days or even more.This does not affect your statutory rights.
How quickly can I expect to start to receive quotes?
Usually within 5-10 minutes from the time you first enter your request. Some suppliers work until late in the evening but most will quote during office hours.
What if I do not receive a quote?
If you do not receive any quote within 48 hours please re submit the request as suppliers' stock changes daily.
Am I obliged to purchase if I make a request?
No, absolutely not. You're under no obligation whatsoever. Once you make a request, our members phone or send you a quote so you can relax, take your time and compare prices, condition and delivery service. You need not purchase any parts at all but we hope our members will provide you with the best possible quotes available so if you need quality vehicle spares, use Auto Spares Compare.
Why do I need to confirm my mobile number?
This is to confirm the number has been entered correctly and to avoid sending unwanted text quotes to those customers who wish to speak with suppliers over the phone
For those wishing to receive text quotes we cover the cost of providing this service by one single text charge of £1.50 which confirms the mobile number is correct and allows you to make unlimited new or repeat requests with ALL subsequent text quotes sent to you for a further 5 days, without charge.
What happens if a part supplied is faulty?
Simply contact the supplying member direct to inform them your part is faulty. The member will usually ask you to return the faulty part and either despatch a replacement or if they do not have one available, they will arrange for an immediate refund.
What do I do if an Auto Spares Compare member refuses to replace a part or refund me?
In the unlikely event a member refuses to sort out a problem, our customer services department (09066355657) want to hear from you. Once they have all the details of the problem, they will contact the member concerned and can usually arrange for a replacement part or refund on your behalf.
How quickly are parts delivered?
Usually the next working day, depending on the time you made your request and the day of the week. For example, if a request is made at 4.30pm, it is unlikely that the parts can be despatched before the following day or if the request was made on a Friday, most couriers will be unable to deliver before Monday, unless a special surcharge has been agreed.
Can I telephone my request?
Yes. If you would prefer to make your request by phone and speak to one of our office team, simply call us between 9.00am and 5:00pm Mon to Friday on 09066355657(Calls Cost £1.50 Per Minute from a BT Landline but calls from other networks may vary.) and we'll be happy to take your full details for you but for speed, you can enter the details yourself. Just follow the prompts on the website, we’ve made it quick and easy to use.
What savings can I expect to make if I use Auto Spares Compare?
Obviously it's impossible to accurately give a true percentage figure but you should expect to save between 50% to 80% off the cost of new spares from your dealership.
What success rate does Auto spares Compare have in finding spares?
Again it's impossible to accurately state just how many times we successfully find spares for customers, but indications are that it’s as high 80% to 90% of the time.
What if you do not find my spares first time?
Obviously with the nature of used spares, it would be impossible for every member to have every spare for every model of vehicle ever made, however with our huge network of suppliers , we usually expect 4, 5 or 6 to have one. It is of course possible from time to time that no one will have a particular part, but as all members are receiving new stock daily, you can simply re-enter your request a day or two later and often your parts will have become available. Remember its free to enter a request.
How many requests can I make?
As many as you like. Obviously if you are a private motorist, you will only need to make the occasional request for spares but if you are a trade repairer, you can use Auto Spares Compare to locate them as often as you wish.
Will my personal details be used by other companies?
No. Your personal details are used solely to allow our members to contact you with no obligation quotes for car parts you may request using Auto Spares Compare or to inform you of any new developments or services available from Auto Spares Compare.
